Action & Advocacy

As of 2008, the US has still not signed on to the Kyoto protocol to reduce greenhouse gasses as caused by using oil and other carbons. The US has failed to adopt formal plans to achieve the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change’s recommendations of getting to a “survivable” level of carbon by 2050 so that humans can “manage” their human and climate impacts without total disruptions. Today our costs of the oil we’ve already used are great and will mount every day that every American doesn’t take action to change their own consumerism and to tell their leaders that absolute, aggressive change must come now. EndOil believes “good enough” isn’t remotely good enough. Act today for the most aggressive actions and policies toward ending oil use in society and in your communities.

PLEDGE YOUR INDEPENDENCE FROM OIL

The fact is, oil is a limited resource. If they haven’t already, global oil reserves will soon reach their peak. This means conflict and aggression will rise as demand continues to grow, and supply continues to dwindle. Individuals, groups, and nations will continue to attempt to procure as much of a limited as resource as possible because possession of a limited resource equals a grip on power. It is time to take a stand as a community, begin fighting oil’s grip on our daily lives, and declare our independence from foreign oil.  Click here to sign the pledge.
